In my years of healing and growth, I’ve found that IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT. Yes there will be challenges, setbacks, breakthroughs, lessons and changes but every part of the journey is exactly what you make it.
Now it’s all better said than done, hence the reason many struggle with accountability. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received is “control what you can control.” Let’s break that down and tie in accountability. When you sit and reflect, more times than not you will notice that you could have controlled the situation or experience in a more positive light. For example, if someone were to project negativity onto you how would you react? Suppose they yelled at you in a public setting for you being in their way, how would you react?
When I had less control of my emotions I would of lowered my frequency and met them where they were, simply because the audacity of you to think it’s okay to talk to me in that manner or tone. These days I understand that misery loves company, a decent amount of people do not know how to manage let alone navigate their emotions which can cause them to project negativity as it is the easy way out. There is power in understanding what you can control, that being YOU! When you begin to sort through past experiences from the lends of desiring positive personal growth, you’ll learn quick that the root is taking accountability for what you’ve allowed, how you reacted and the lack of control you had over self.
Realizing this can create a huge shift, helping you create that desired change. Every encounter is what you make it, the choice is always yours to make that is why accountability is essential to one’s journey. Although life can get frustrating and heavy, it is on you to make the most of what the world has to offer regardless of the negatives, how can you balance the scale?
It’s like a game of tug of war, there will always be resistance when you’re navigating through life. Regardless of the hassles in the mist of the game, you have the capabilities to overcome and win the challenge. What will you make of the life you’re living?
