At the height of personal growth, suddenly you realize that life begins to shift in more ways than one now you’re really in the thick of it.
Shedding happens when you make the decision to focus on personal development and growth begins to happen. The tests of reaction will heighten as you will be exploring new ways of response to situations that may have caused you to emotionally respond in the past.
Standing firm in your faith while understanding WHY you are making these shifts will help you remain grounded through the drastic challenges you will be up against. We want the illusion of a peaceful journey through personal growth when in reality it is a bumpy road with tons of road blocks. The reason we are tested is because it is new territory, we are actively working to make change which does not happen over night.
Being in the thick of it will anchor at your character but also add value to your testimony. Life may seem unfair and you may even want to revert back to your old ways BUT be reminded of your WHY. If you are unsure of your WHY then go back to the drawing board and ask yourself some hard questions for example:
- What am I doing this for?
- Who am I doing this for?
- How can I create better daily habits that reflect the person I want to be?
- What is my purpose?
- What do I do that I am proud of?
- What do I do that I am not proud of or doesn’t benefit my growth?
- What do I need to release and surrender that may be hindering my growth?
- Are my daily habits a reflection of the highest version of myself?
- Why do I want to change the way I react to situations?
- Why do I desire the life that I envision for myself?
- Why ?
These are just a few questions you can ask yourself to figure out why you want to grow as an individual. Personal development is an intentional journey where understanding needs to meet productive action in order to reach the results you desire for your life. Give yourself grace through the process because you are working to shed parts of yourself that may be a shield of protection for you but do not serve the best version of yourself in this season and that is the hardest part of this journey.
You have what it takes to overcome, remember this when you’re in the THICK OF IT.
