There is this eerie distance between we and trauma,

We tend to suppress it until it’s compressed within,

Separating ourselves far from instead of leaning in for a hug.

The power that encompasses a hug goes overlooked because some are taught to hush it up and dry their tears rather than to stand firm and face your fears.

It’s a dilemma in which may suit you best but allowing yourself the grace to unpack the oppressed will open the flood gates in which trauma rests.

Shedding light on the fact that this trauma was all a projection that you no longer have to bare,

Although it’s affected you way beyond your depth you can still hug it and allow your nervous system to rest.

Rest in ease, rest until you’re free, from that trauma in which you’ve burried so deep.

Hug it until your trauma is defeated because you deserve to lead a life free of suppressed trauma.
