Can you fit in my shoes?

So undecided, emotional wreck, empowered.

Let me give you a glimpse into the unbalanced shoes of a black woman.

Born to live up to standards we may or may not care to fulfill, just as much as our brothers we too are born with two strikes against us, first being black second being a woman! Yea our stats speak for their selves but is that enough? NO, we must go above and beyond in everything we do, that’s not hard, that’s our goal regardless, it’s the unbalanced notion that we MUST prove ourselves over whites, than our brothers.

Listen to me closely, that’s not hard, that’s our goal regardless, we push and push to beat our own critique, our own insecurity, our own standards, on top of what society has set for us.

So undecided, emotional wreck, empowered.

Let me give you a closer glimpse into the unbalanced shoes of a black woman.

Look at our history, we fall at the end of this screwed up society ladder built off the strength of our ancestors, we deserve to be QUEENS, nothing less than any other race, gender or country. This is why it’s important to step into our shoes, history, mental and better yet our stories. No one is exactly alike, though similar, the struggle of being a black woman is not to be over look, it’s to be dissected, examined, honored and cherished, especially by our brothers, understand your woman and you’ll be better equipped to take care of, handle, guide and most importantly love us.

See our strength, our struggle, our hard work and determination, we work hard for it all,

So undecided, emotional wreck, empowered.

This is just a bit of a glimpse into the unbalanced shoes of a black woman.

Can you handle it?

Best,

Dashana M. Robinson-Vailes
