I’ve known you 3 years short of your life,

You’ve always been my goto, even in your muteness I know you search for the answers, to your little sisters heartache but you can’t find the right words.

You always try to be strong, showing no emotion, I know that deep down inside you never got the chance to really release all of which you bottled up inside.

Thinking about it now, you was the MAN of our house, yes we had a Stepfather present but YOU was the MAN.

You had no real answers. We lost our wizard, Grandpa Shorty, before he can give you all the jewels to pass down as the Man of the House.

I want you to know, I see your strength and I understand why you’ve always been a bottle it up and toss it in the ocean kind of dude, because you’re a protector, a silent one at that.

You’re courageous my King and I understand now after all these years, you’re the oldest of us all.

I just want you to know it’s okay to crack them bottles open, we’re all here to be as courageous as you and walk with you in whatever journey you set out for yourself.

One last thing my KING, I will for eternity be your Protector as well.

I am my Brothers Keeper, Happy Birthday to the only KING I’ve ever known De’Shon T. Mitchell.
